Basic design

There exist 10 types of Plaubel Makina cameras all based on the same basic design.

Plaubel Makina Camera.
Horizontal width: 142 mm
Vertical Height: l00mm
Height with front closed 38mm included ground glass frame
 open 123mm
Weight 750 g.

Leather covered stamped aluminium case 13x10,5x1,5.  Neck strap rings. Two tripod
 nuts on top and trigger side. On top next to the release, folding black finished rectangular peep hole plate plate 27x35mm with
 5 mm bluish rear lens. In the middle a folding rod for use with the front sportsfinder.
Vertical side, near the viewfinder, polished scissor sliding mechanism
polished and frame Image window 64x88mm. Camera number at the bottom of the case.
Focusing side - Black leather bellows, very slightly pyramidal strut folders in electroplated nickel silver ('Neusilber)
ensuring the positioning of the front plate and the focusing up to 1.5 meters: distance scale under the
viewfinder glass, slightly sloping.
Black lacquered 82x128mm front plate, carrying the lens / shutter assembly Plaubel Anticomar
2.9 / 100mm lens; front lens diameter 34mm.
On top of the lens, threaded connection for filters with a diameter of 41mm Compur S shutter embedded in
the the front plate Speed.
Selection shutter speed (T-B-1-2-5-10-25-50-100-200)
by rotating a disc surrounding the lens, operated by a small lever marked "R" (Regulierung)
Self-timer (12 seconds) controlled by a small button marked "V" (Vorlauf), located next to
the lens. On the top of the front plate a 20x28mm folding front lens of the Galileo's viewfinder with cross hair and
next to it a standard cable release socket On the vertical side of the front plate  (viewfinder side), trigger
marked "A" (Auslöser) and diaphragm selector engraved 2 , 9-4.5-6-9-12-18-25.
Opposite side, shutter cocking button marked S (Spannen), and focusing wheel (diameter 15mm) Above and
below the plate, two push-buttons to release the scissors in order to retract the front plate.
 Sports viewfinder in metal wire, foldable on the black front plate.

1920-1924
Type 1 

In fact the same camera as the basic model except:
 Dial shutter time setting
Equiped with Anticomar 4,2/100 mm non interchangeable lens
Folding crosshair optical viewfinder with pop up eye piece placed on the middle of  the rear side.
No coupled rangefinder. As from 1922 also available with Anticomar 3,2

Type 2
1924-1931
Dial shutter time setting like Type 1,
The optical finder moved to the left side. From now on collapsible. To be used in combination with front cross hair lens.
Rear lens cell mounted on thin plate.
Objective Anticomar 3,2 / 100 cm rare. Often equiped with 2,9 /100 mm which exist out of
3 groups from which the front and rear are dismountable. Focus distance 1,5 M.
Compur shutter 1,2,5,10,25,50,100 and 1/200 sec. Cocking lever right below the lens.
Carrying handle.
Different variations:
Baffles equipped with openings to let the air escape when folding the camera bellows.
